Dear Kindergarten Families,
Welcome to Oakland Academy! We are so excited and look forward to having a wonderful year with you and your child. Learning will begin promptly at 8:20 a.m. to help establish daily routines. Daily routines will be in place on the first day of school and remain the same throughout the school year. Routine is important for our young learners; your child will begin to learn a sense of time and purpose within our classrooms.
Our goal each year is to create a safe and caring learning environment for our students. Within this environment we will
learn to become independent problem solvers. Each week, we will work on reading, writing, and math learning targets and the other subject areas (social studies, science, music, art, and health) will be rotated into the schedule. We ask families to partner with us in practicing the academic skills and concepts at home to help your child thrive at school.
We look forward to working with you and seeing what the 2023-2024 school year bring! Please join us on Wednesday,
August 23rd from 4-6 pm at our open house. The first day of school is a half day on Monday, August 28th.

*A specific donation request will go home at the beginning of the year for any small items needed for individual
classrooms. We are always looking to expand our classroom libraries and welcome any donations if you have any gently used books you would like to donate.
