The Oakland Bridge Program is designed for families seeking a different approach to education:

✅ Virtual, flexible learning from home with daily support

✅ Weekly on-site connection days for social interaction, life skills, and hands-on electives

✅ Certified Oakland Academy teacher assigned to each student for guidance and mentorship

✅ Parent Learning Coach partnership to help students stay engaged and successful

Students complete their core academics and electives through a trusted online platform, while building friendships and life skills through structured, in-person days at school.

 

How Oakland Bridge Works

  • Who it’s for: Students entering grades K–8 
  • Daily Learning: Students work independently from home using the Accelerate Education platform, guided by a parent or guardian acting as a Learning Coach. 
  • On-Site Days: Students attend Oakland Academy once a week for social activities, hands-on electives, and academic enrichment. 
  • Curriculum: Core subjects (Math, Science, Social Studies, English Language Arts) + electives aligned with Michigan State Standards. 
  • Technology Provided: Full-time enrolled students are provided a FREE school-issued laptop and technical support as needed.
