On Monday, July 6, our Oakland Academy families came together for an afternoon on the playground — and it was everything we hoped for!
Kids conquered the inflatable obstacle course, popsicles melted just a little too fast in the sun, books found new homes, and families got to sit back, chat, and connect. Just neighbors and friends enjoying a summer afternoon together.
It was great watching families who already know each other catching up, and new families getting right into the fold like they’d always been there. It’s a small thing, but this is what the community looks like at Oakland Academy, not just on event days, but all year long.
Thank you to every family who came out, to the staff who helped make it happen, and to everyone who makes Oakland Academy feel like home. We loved celebrating summer with you, and we can’t wait for the next one.
